FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.
  • How should I send my samples to the lab?
It is preferable to send you samples as they would be sent to a dispensary and sold to a patient. If the product is supposed to be frozen (example would be medicated ice cream), please ensure that is noted on the CoC when you request testing, and prepare your sample for pickup or delivery appropriately. These guidelines also apply to samples stored under refrigeration or at room temperature, or any other condition. As of November 1, 2020, it will be required for samples to be packaged for testing as they would be sold to a patient.
  • Do I need to send a full vape cartridge or disposable pen, or just the oil that is used to fill a particular batch of cartridges/pens?

Please send us the final product that will be sold to patients. It is also helpful to you if you also identify the oil according to state compliance standards. Why send the final product (cartridge or pen)? The requirements outlined according to the Arizona Department of Health Services require all final products be tested, not the oil contained with them, as it may be used in a multitude of products sold to patients.

  • How much sample do I need to send for each test?

Please contact Level One Labs for more information.

  • How many cannabinoids do you test for?

We currently test for 9 cannabinoids: d9-THC, d9-THCA, CBD, CBDA, CBN, THCV, CBG, CBGA, and d8-THC

  • What are the expected turn-around times for testing a sample?

Please contact Level One Labs for more information.

  • How many residual solvents do you test for?
We currently test for 20 residual solvents.
  • How many pesticides do you test for?

  • What type of instruments do you use?
Our analytical instrumentation is from reputable scientific manufactures such as Agilent and SCIEX, and includes but is not limited to: high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), liquid-chromatography-mass spectroscopy (LC-MS), gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS), real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), moisture analyzers, and water activity meters. Our direct-to-customer services will soon be expanding to include a robust and full-service microbiology department.
